Željko Bojanić from Kotor was arrested in Istanbul, Turkish media reported.
Interpol also issued an international warrant for Bojanić on suspicion of his involvement in drug smuggling.
Bojanić was accused of murdering Risto Mijanović, a native of Cetinje who was close to the "Skaljar clan".
CNN Turk announced that police teams searched the yard of the villa where Bojanić was hiding, suspecting that the body of Mijanović might be buried there.
The Istanbul police announced that nothing was found in the courtyard of the villa so far, and that they would inform the public about everything in a timely manner.
Bojanić is a former close associate of the now deceased Dragan Dudić Fric. He was wounded in the shooting in which Dudić was killed in 2010 in the cafe "Moka" in Kotor's Old Town.
He has been on the run since Slovenia issued a warrant for him on suspicion that he participated in the smuggling of cocaine from South America to Europe from September 2014 to June 2015.
CNN Türk also states that Bojanić, whose nickname is "Boris", is among the 45 most wanted criminals in Europe and that he entered Turkey with a false passport in the name of "Andelew Belchew Jordan".
