The police administration announced that the officers of the Podgorica Security Department shed light on a series of serious thefts committed on the territory of the capital and deprived four minors of their freedom, and filed a criminal complaint against one minor.
As stated in the police statement, five minors between the ages of 14 and 17 are suspected of committing 30 crimes of serious theft from December 17, 2022 to January 5 of this year.
"It is suspected that they broke into 30 facilities using suitable means (stores, pharmacies, catering establishments, boutiques, sports betting shops, a foreign language school, an NGO facility, a beauty salon, etc.). They embezzled money from the facilities, wardrobe and various items which they then sold to unknown persons," the announcement states.
It is added that four suspected minors were arrested by order of the state prosecutor for minors in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, and that a criminal complaint was filed against one of them in regular proceedings on suspicion of having committed 30 crimes of aggravated theft.
