On January 5, the Special State Prosecutor's Office submitted an indictment to the High Court in Podgorica against National Security Agency official Petar Lazović.
The spokeswoman of the High Court, Marija Raković, confirmed to "Vijesta" that Lazović's detention was extended after the indictment was filed, and that there has not yet been a decision by the council regarding the acceptance of bail for his release with a guarantee of millions.
The detention of Lazović, Nikša Perović and Radovan Pantović was extended due to the risk of escape, and the decisions were made by the criminal extrajudicial panel of the High Court in Podgorica.
The SDT in the criminal case, which was re-formed in May of this year by the order of the chief special prosecutor Vladimir Novović after the submitted material from Europol and French judicial authorities, charges Lazović with the indictment of having committed the criminal acts of creating a criminal organization, unauthorized production, keeping and putting into circulation of narcotic drugs, smuggling, illegal possession of weapons and explosive substances and abuse of official position.
11 members of the criminal organization were charged with the indictment.
