Ombudsman Siniša Bjeković was attacked in the corridor of the premises of the Institution of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms.
Bjeković was verbally and physically attacked by an employee, as reported to "Vijesti" from the Institution of the Protector.
Due to the suspicion that he attacked Bjeković, the police arrested Predrag Tomašević (50).
That official slapped Bjeković, according to "Vijesti" information.
The "Vijesti" source claims that Bjeković's eardrum ruptured from the blow.
"We confirm your information that this morning there was an unfortunate event in the institution when the patron Siniša Bjeković was verbally and physically attacked by an employee. Since the event was reported to the competent state authorities, in order not to violate anyone's rights in the proceedings, we cannot for now to present more information. There is no reason to worry about the health condition of the protector, who is feeling well," told "Vijesta" from the Institution of the Protector.
From the Police Administration, it was announced that PT is being charged with the criminal offense of endangering security.
"The suspect, along with a criminal report, will be brought to the acting prosecutor for further jurisdiction," the police announced.
