Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović he asked the Prosecutor's Council to send him help as soon as possible to the Special State Prosecutor's Office - the senior state prosecutor from Bijelo Polje Vladan Đalović, the prosecutor of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica Maja Janković and her colleague Nikola Boricic.
In the request sent to the TS, he requested that a senior state prosecutor be appointed for a period of two years, due to the urgency of the work in the cases and the increased workload of that prosecution. Jelena Protic and that request was granted at the electronic session of TS, on January 26 of this year, so that she is officially a member of SDT as of yesterday.
Acting Supreme State Prosecutor Maja Jovanovic at yesterday's TS session, she informed the members of that body that prosecutor Đalović accepted the proposal to move from Bijelo Polje to Podgorica, but for family reasons, he asked to postpone the move for two months.
According to "Vijesti" data, prosecutor Janković has accepted the transfer from the ODT to the Special State Prosecutor's Office, for a maximum of two years, but the Prosecutor's Council is waiting to formalize and approve that, according to Article 24 of the Law on the Special State Prosecutor's Office, she will also be sent to SDT.
Prosecutor Nikola Boričić refused, so referral is not possible because according to Article 24 paragraph 1 it is possible only "with the written consent of the state prosecutor who is being referred"...
The Special State Prosecutor's Office will receive new personnel reinforcements, most likely during February, but a decision on this will be made when the TS completes the selection of the acting VDT.
At the beginning of June last year, at the request of the GST, three prosecutors were sent to the SDT for a period of up to two years - Jovan Vukotic, Vukas Radonjic and the plaintiff Tanja Čolan Deretic.
Although he asked for help soon after taking office, GST had to wait for the green light from the TS because that body had to first finish filling the shortage of prosecutors in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, and only then send him the prosecutors he wanted to see in to his team.
How much he trusts the prosecutors, whom he asked the Supreme Court to refer to him, is best told by the fact that Vukotić and Radonjić are handling almost all major cases and investigations opened for the mandate of the new GST, while prosecutor Čolan - Deretić received a report - war crimes cases.
