Yesterday, poachers threatened the safety and life of the supervisor of the Skadar Lake National Park (NP), which is just one in a series of attempts to prevent the rangers from dealing with illegalities in the area of that NP.
This was announced to "Vijesta" by the Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro (JPNPCG).
In one of the videos submitted to Vijesti, it can be seen that the poachers, from a much faster vessel, are waving at the rangers, and in the other, that the criminals whom the supervisors were trying to catch, turn the vessel in their direction.
The accident was avoided, and the case was reported to the police.
"The protection service carried out regular activities with the aim of suppressing poaching in the water area of NP 'Skadarsko jezero'. Through a detailed survey of the terrain and joint action with the control and monitoring service, several persons were observed who aimed to catch fish illegally using an 'electric converter'. In the last In the case in the Kamenik region, in addition to obstructing the performance of official work, the persons at one point threatened the safety of the supervisor," said the JPNPCG.
They add that the authorities are aware of everything that happened yesterday, from whom, as they said from JPNPCG, they expect full support, and they told the poachers that they will not intimidate them.
"We are ready to suppress all illegalities, preserve the lake and the fish stock, and what they did last night is just another failed attempt at intimidation, to which, I believe, the state will adequately respond," said the JPNPCG.
