The Protection Service and the Monitoring Service carried out an action on Lake Skadar this evening that resulted in the seizure of a tank full of fish, the Public Enterprise National Parks of Montenegro (JPNPCG) told News.
"Unfortunately, the perpetrators managed to escape, but the complete equipment and the fishing rod were confiscated. This action was carried out in order to prevent illegal fishing and preserve the natural wealth of Lake Skadar," said JP NPCG.
They point out that non-compliance with fishing laws and regulations has serious consequences for the animal and plant life of Lake Skadar.
"This action is just one of many that will be carried out in the future, with the aim of protecting nature and preserving Lake Skadar as a natural treasure of Montenegro," said JP NPCG and announced the criminal charges filed against the perpetrators of that crime.
"Which will send a strong message to all those who want to threaten the nature and wildlife of this important ecosystem."
