The police administration is determining what happened at the border crossing Sukobin - Murićani after the Albanian media announced that the officers of the Border Police of Montenegro had brutally mistreated an Albanian citizen.
The elders of the Regional Border Police Center "South" took statements from the officers of that border crossing, and after the completion of the official actions, it will be known what sanctions will be taken against the policemen.
The incident was reported to the police on January 17 of this year.
The 34-second video, which was published in the media and on social networks, shows the rough mistreatment of a man, who was sitting in a car, with at least three border policemen circling around him.
At one point, you can see on the video, an officer of the border police Sector - South through the window grabs a man roughly in the face with his fist saying: "As much as you can talk, now I would break his jaw"...
After that, several people in uniform but in civilian clothes can be seen, and then one of the policemen forcefully pulls the driver out of the car while shouting: "Leave the phone, leave the phone"...
Based on the video, it is not possible to conclude when the incident happened.
On this occasion, the Police Directorate (UP) officially announced this evening that the procedure to determine the responsibility of the officers of the Police Directorate is underway, as well as the procedure before the Department for Internal Control of the Police - Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).
The Democratic Union of Albanians (DUA) announced on January 17 that a member of the Montenegrin MUP "harassed a citizen of Albania".
In a statement sent to the media, they sent a video, which was published by an Albanian media, showing the abuse.
"The Democratic Union of Albanians calls on the competent authorities as well as Prime Minister Abazović to take appropriate measures in order to shed light on the situation of the use of force by the police against unknown persons and to urgently clarify this situation," they stated in the statement.
From the DUA, as they said, they demand that "according to the Laws, appropriate measures be implemented and sanctioned in order to send a message about the unacceptability of such behavior".
"As you can clearly see in the video, we are especially concerned that the police officer has given himself the right to mistreat an Albanian citizen in this way, who does not offer any resistance or do anything illegal," said the party.
Then they submitted a video from the Albanian media, but it is obviously an event that was recorded after the video that appeared on social networks today.
