The portal Parents.me published a video in which, according to them, an eighth-grade student of the "21. Maj" Primary School in Podgorica was the victim of an attack that happened ten days ago near that institution.
The same portal adds that according to the claims of the parents of other students, that student has been exposed to peer violence for a long period of time.
"The boy, who is a foreign citizen, was brutally beaten near his school by a group of ninth-grade pupils of the 'Savo Pejanović' primary school. The epilogue of that case of violence is the initiation of criminal proceedings against four fourteen-year-olds on suspicion of having committed violent behavior, and the school they attend said it is also an educational measure - a reduction in the grade in governance," the aforementioned portal states.

Parents.me emphasizes that the boy who was the victim is already known to the police, because last year he threatened to jump from the school building.
"Although, according to the police, peer violence was not the reason why he decided to take that step, the parents who contacted us indicate that it is another alarm that he needs support. They claim that his peers are cruel to him, that daily exposed to verbal attacks from both younger and older students, who call him names because of his appearance and behavior, but also on a national basis," the portal says.
They add that the elementary school "21. Maj" that the boy attends was not aware that he was exposed to such attacks, and since he was a victim of violence by children from the elementary school "Savo Pejanović" he visits the school's pedagogical and psychological service every day.
The director of his school, Leposava Furtula, says that as a team they are trying to provide him with all the necessary support, but neither he nor the other children have reported that he is exposed to peer violence on a daily basis.
"After the incident that happened behind our school, when he was beaten by a group of boys, he immediately turned to us. We reacted urgently and even though it was Friday, and everything happened after five hours, we immediately reported the case to the police, called the parent and the child referred to the Emergency Service. After that, he was at the Security Center where he gave a statement. Already on Saturday, we received a video of that violence, which we forwarded to the police and the perpetrators were immediately identified," Furtula told Parents.me.
She added that criminal proceedings were initiated against these boys, and their school followed the procedure by imposing educational measures. She did not want to comment on the information that the student had problems a year ago, because of which the police were involved.
"I would not be able to comment on something that happened before my arrival in this position. Of course, our pedagogic service has all the data about the students, and I responsibly claim that we do everything in accordance with the procedures, which are provided by law, and are in the best interest of the children," she said. is Furtula.
According to her, they are determined to send a message that violence has no place in school and that no child should be afraid. In order to achieve this, he says, he will work harder on the education of children, as well as teachers and parents.
"I believe that the boy would have told us and asked for help if the situation was like that, when other students were constantly calling him names and verbally attacking him. I think this especially because he was encouraged to report what was happening to him. Just recently he also showed us a photo of an older a man he took a picture of at school and was scared of him for some reason. I told him that I would follow him every day when he left school to make sure that no one would attack him. We are trying to help him as much as possible ways," said Furtula.
He says that neither the boy nor anyone else reported to the administration that he was allegedly recently the victim of an assault by an adult male, who punched him in the head.
The other children also told their parents that this had happened, but there was no official report anywhere.
Furtula also pointed out that it is very difficult to follow everything that happens in the yard, because the two gates are open, and the cameras outside the building have not been working for some time. They try to control what happens during the break with the teachers on duty. As he points out, the camera problem will be solved urgently, even though it is a considerable investment for a school team. They expect the support of the Ministry, but also of the Council of Parents, who have proposals on the matter.
"Because of all that, we are advocating for the return of the school policeman and increased surveillance in the school yard," says Furtula.
Zoran Đukić, director of the "Savo Pejanović" elementary school, told Parents.me that after the attack by a group of students on the boy, the "21. May" elementary school acted urgently according to the procedure and imposed disciplinary measures.
"Based on the information received from the police, we urgently convened a session of the Teachers' Council. We presented all the details and a unanimous decision was made to impose a measure on the four students of the ninth grade who participated in this event - a reduction in the grade in governance," said Đukić. .
