The evidentiary proceedings against the defendants for the murder of Canadian citizen Ljiljana Simić ended today in the High Court in Podgorica. The President of the Council of Judges Veljko Radovanović scheduled for April 11 the closing arguments of the parties in this court process.
According to the indictment, Zoran Marić and Radomir Delić are accused of murdering a Canadian citizen in an insidious manner and out of self-interest.
Lawyer Dejan Dragović, the defense attorney of the defendant Marić, who replaced his colleague lawyer Lazar Aković, proposed that the court officially obtain a criminal report from the Kotor Security Department dated August 27, 2020, against a certain man named "Dragan", against whom the victim Simić filed for causing serious bodily injury.
"This is where the answer to the question of who killed on September 3.9.2020, XNUMX can be found, given that the defendant Marić categorically denies that he committed the murder during the entire procedure," said the defense attorney.
He suggested that the court obtain information from banking institutions about the movement of money for Simić's visa card. He added that the defendant Marić did not dispute that she had a bank card, but that it had been blocked since August 29, 2020, which he found out when Ljiljana wanted to pay for fuel at a gas station in Budva.
The defense claims that Marić never owned or used the card.
Lawyer Dina Šabotić suggested that the court use as evidence a letter written and handed over by the defendant Marić to her client Delic in prison.
"The letter is a confirmation of another attempt to manipulate Marić, so that Delić would take responsibility for a criminal offense that he indisputably committed," said the lawyer.
State Prosecutor Danka Ivanović Đerić objected to the proposal to introduce this evidence, as it would lead to a delay in the proceedings.
Lawyer Matija Bulatović, the representative of the injured Simić family, who today replaced his colleague lawyer Danilo Mićović, said that the evidence related to the bank card is unnecessary for this court process, because Marić is accused of obtaining the money from the sale of Ljiljana Simić's Nissan vehicle. and not by withdrawing money from a visa card.
The indictment stated that on September 3, 2020, after 14.46:XNUMX p.m. in the village of Mokrine near Herceg Novi, they killed Ljiljana Simić in an insidious manner and out of self-interest by jointly participating in the act of execution. Together they reached the residential building in the Dobrota neighborhood in Kotor where the injured party lived. Under the pretext that he was going to take her to Herceg Novi and show her the nature and the sunset, the defendant Marić lured the injured party to get in with him and the defendant Delić and sit in the passenger seat of the said vehicle. After that, both defendants and the injured party in the same vehicle driven by the defendant Marić drove from Kotor in the direction of Herceg Novi, where the defendant Marić joined the main road and then the macadam forest road to the village of Mokrine. After which he stopped the vehicle on the gravel road, so that both defendants and the victim Simić went along the footpath across the nearby meadow, on which part of the defendant Marić gave instructions to the defendant Delic to stay at that place and look towards the gravel road and make sure that no one comes across , which the defendant Delić accepted.
As stated in the indictment, the defendant Marić started an argument with the injured Simićeva, then knocked her down to the ground, pressed her against her chest with his feet, and then clamped her neck with both hands and struck her several times with his fists or a mechanical tool in the area of her face, inflicting severe and life-threatening bodily injuries, from which the injured party died. After that, he promised the defendant Delić a monetary reward in the amount of between four and five thousand euros, which he would pay him upon the sale of the apartment of the injured party, Ljiljana Simić, and that the defendant Delić, in return, would remain silent about the committed criminal act and not report it to the competent authorities. the defendant Delić accepted.
Instructions for Delic to confess to murder
In the letter written in printed Latin letters by Zoran Marić in prison and delivered to Radomir Delic on 07/0/2021, during a walk, it is stated, among other things, how he should take responsibility and admit that he killed Ljiljana Simić.
"On August 29, Zoran introduced me to Ljiljana... I don't know when he met her, I just know that they agreed that she would give him a car, and he would in return renovate her two bathrooms. And underfloor heating. The two of us, that is, Ljiljana and I were in a relationship, and Zoran brought us together, since she was divorced, and that suited me. Zoran went to Kotor every day to pick her up and bring her. Then they would be together. On that fateful day, we came to her together and left for Herceg Novi. During the drive, Zoran had an argument with his son. When we arrived in Meljine, Zoran said that he had to go home immediately and that we would see each other later. I sat behind the wheel - that is, the driver's seat - and we went to Trebinje to be alone in nature. Since we were drunk, I started talking to Ljiljan about his promise to take me to Canada. I don't even know how it happened, I hit her, but she was lying motionless. I got scared and left him there in the forest and fled by car to Herceg Novi... I regret that it happened like that and that the man who did not kill is still in prison...", it is stated in the letter that Marić handed over to Delic, as would admit that he killed Ljiljana Simić.
