The Demokrata Bar municipal board announced that violence among minors is a serious problem that requires immediate attention and resolution.
The party stated that they deeply regret the incident that happened last night in Bar, when a group of young men physically attacked two athletes of the Sarajevo Athletic Club who came to Montenegro for training.
Four minors from Bar will be held criminally responsible for the attack on them.
"As a city that has long been recognized as a city of peace and tolerance where people are happy to come and be guests, this kind of attitude and act towards our young guests and athletes is even more worrying and burdensome. As a society, we must invest efforts in educating young people about the importance of tolerance and non-violent conflict resolution. It is necessary for us as a community to be supportive and provide support to young people in solving their problems in a constructive way, instead of resorting to violence as a solution," the announcement states.
OO Demokrata Bar called on parents and guardians to take responsibility in educating their children about values such as respect, tolerance and understanding.
"We also appeal to the authorities to take action to prevent this form of violence in the future. As a community, we must come together and work together to ensure that our young people grow up in a safe and supportive environment. Violence is not the answer and we must as society to fight against him at every level," the announcement concludes.
