The Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Socialist People's Party, Vladimir Joković, condemned the attack on minors from Sarajevo that took place in Bar.
In a statement, Joković stated that Bar has always been a positive example of multi-religious and multinational harmony, which causes additional concern.
"Also, I apologize to the young men and their parents with a sincere wish for a speedy recovery. This situation has additional weight, due to the fact that it concerns athletes who came to Montenegro for preparations, with the minimum expectation that their safety is unquestionable," he said. Jokovic.
He pointed out that such isolated cases are not a reflection of Montenegro.
"Everyone is welcome in Montenegro, especially young athletes who should always enjoy maximum support. I expect an effective reaction from the competent institutions and I emphasize that physical violence must be strictly sanctioned," said Joković.
A group of young men in Bar physically attacked two athletes of the Sarajevo Athletic Club who came to Montenegro for training.
Four minors from Bar will be held criminally responsible for the attack on them.
Minors from Sarajevo were assisted in the Emergency Medical Service and the General Hospital in Bar.
One of the minors was diagnosed with a serious injury in the form of a broken nose and jaw bone, which is why he was transported to the Clinical Center of Montenegro for further hospitalization.
