Miljanić: The prosecution has not yet heard new witnesses about the murder of Jovanović, on Wednesday they will answer why

The leaders of the prosecution and the police will answer on Wednesday in the "deaf room" of the Government of Montenegro questions about why, even after four months, potential new witnesses in the case of the murder of Duško Jovanović have not been heard.

This was said by the minister in charge of the fight against corruption, Zoran Miljanić, in the RTCG program.

Miljanić, who is also the deputy president of the Commission for Monitoring Investigations into Attacks on Journalists, said that the meeting will be held on Wednesday because no new potential witnesses to the murder of Jovanović have been heard.

"The murder of Duško Jovanović is a stone around the neck of the rule of law in Montenegro. Until the murder is completely clarified, the legal system has a big gap, that is, a hole. The commission that deals with monitoring investigations into attacks on journalists came to know that some procedures were not done properly and that some witnesses were not even heard. Since January of this year, we have not received an answer from the prosecution whether the commission's recommendations were followed, that is, we do not have an answer to the question whether persons who are directly connected through certain actions and who may be valid witnesses in the case of the murder of Duško Jovanović have not questioned. For four months, no sign or voice from the prosecution," Miljanić said, reports the RTCG portal.

He stated that the Government has looked at the entire situation and a session in the "deaf room" is scheduled for Wednesday.

"To which you are invited the Acting Supreme Prosecutor (Tatjana Begović) and the prosecutor from the High Prosecutor's Office whom she will delegate, the director of the Police Administration (Nikola Terzić), the head of the Special Police Department (Predrag Šuković), two prosecutors from the commission and the director of the ANB (Boris Milić). We will open the tickets to see who is not doing their job or who is obstructing, which is the worse option. Because if you have not had a clear answer for so long, the question arises as to why there is a Commission that deals with monitoring investigations into attacks on journalists," Miljanić said. .

In January of this year, the Government's Commission for Monitoring the Actions of the Competent Authorities in Investigating Attacks on a Journalist recommended to the investigating authorities that, as part of the investigation into the murder of Duško Jovanović, they re-interrogate the former Podgorica police chief, Milan Vujanović, in order to determine what happened to the official note made during the interrogation of Damir Mandić. describing how the crime was committed.

According to the RTCG portal, it is also recommended that Ivan Đukić be heard as a witness, and regarding his conversation with the person who brought "Golf 3" to Uroš Marchetić for tinting of the windows, whether he knows that person, along with an offer for a polygraph test. The commission particularly questions the fact that there was no real effort to create a photo robot or to perform the act of identifying the person who brought the "Golf 3" from which Duško Jovanović was later shot.
