The Supreme Court rejected the request of the electronic media for a live broadcast of the trial of the former president of the Supreme Court of Montenegro Vesni Medenici.

The main hearing against the defendants in that case is scheduled for today.
"Based on Article 320 paragraph 4 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and Article 55 of the Rules of Court, after considering the request, I make a decision rejecting the request, which requested audio and video recording or direct TV transmission of the beginning of the main broadcast in the proceedings against Miloš Medenica others, under number Ks. no. 45/22, which is scheduled for May 04, 05," states the decision of the Acting President of the Supreme Court Vesne Vučković.
In the explanation of the decision, it is stated that the judge, in front of whom the main trial is to be held, announced that there are no technical conditions for the requested recording of the trial: "Because we are dealing with a large number of accused persons, their lawyers, and the spatial capacity of the hall in which it is to be if the trial is held, they are not adequate".
Also, in the statement, it was stated that the PR service of the High Court in Podgorica will provide information about the course of the main trial immediately after its conclusion, on the official website of that court.
The Special State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against the defendants Milos and his mother Vesna Medenica, Darko Lalović, Vasilij Petrović, Bojana i Marko Popović, Milice Vlahović Milosavljević, Marko Vučinić, Milorad Medenica, Luka Bakoč, Petar Milutinović, Ivan Kovačević, Radomir Raičević, Marjana Bevenje, Steve Karanikić, Goran Jovanović and "Kopad Company" from Nikšić...
They are charged with criminal offenses - the creation of a criminal organization, the extended criminal offense of smuggling, the extended criminal offense of giving a bribe, receiving a bribe, illegal influence and inducing illegal influence, abuse of official position, unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs, enabling the consumption of narcotic drugs drugs, illegal possession of weapons and explosive substances, grievous bodily harm and obstruction of evidence.
The accused police officer Darko Lalović is accused of mediating the purchase of narcotic drugs for Miloš Medenica, who then gave them to others to enjoy.
Among other things, according to the indictment, in 2019, Miloš Medenica created a criminal organization, whose members were Vesna Medenica and others, with the aim of smuggling cigarettes and illegally influencing the judiciary... criminal organization, avoiding the measures of customs supervision, from the Free Customs Zone of the port of Bar, smuggled cigarettes into the customs territory of Montenegro, for the purpose of sale, with the help of false documents and giving bribes to the accused customs officers".
His mother is accused of having undertaken to use her official position to mediate certain civil cases that were conducted before the High Court in Podgorka and the Supreme Court of Montenegro in favor of the companies "Fab Live" and "Cijevna Commerce". ", regardless of the factual situation, in which she was assisted by the defendant Miloš Medenica and certain members of the criminal organization...
The indictment presented that Miloš Medenica and his mother Vesna accepted a bribe, after she issued a verdict in favor of the company 'Fab Live', which was sued by the company 'Gugi Komerc'. It is stated that the owners of 'Fab Live' have agreed to pay 181.000 euros for this, equivalent in real estate"...
She is also accused of inciting Milica Vlahović Milosvaljević, judge of the Commercial Court, to abuse her official position in litigation, and contrary to the Law on Execution and Security, pass a temporary measure in favor of Rad Arsić, Medenica's godfather, but also that she mediated with other colleagues to execute official actions, contrary to the Law on Judicial Council and Judges, i.e. the Law on Civil Procedure, and make a decision in the case in favor of the company "Carine".
