The special panel presided over by judge Nenad Vujanović, today, in the continuation of the trial, issued a decision accepting the proposal of state prosecutor Jelena Protić, that communication via the sky application be used as evidence in the trial of the defendant Stefan Kovač.
Kovač is accused of having, as a member of a criminal group, the task of killing Dejan Kašćelan in Vienna in 2020.
However, during the investigation, he was abused by some of the policemen, so the court previously ordered that any video recordings from the offices be excluded, as well as that the employees of the former police team for operational support be heard.
The judge stated at today's trial that the evidence was sent via international legal aid from the French Ministry of Justice.
The judge said that it is about millions of messages and that it takes time to review everything and that there are technical problems.
Lawyer Damir Lekić stated that the defense opposes the presentation of that evidence, even though it is in the defense's favor because it contains photographs of the torture of Kovač.
"That this evidence about Sky Communications and other evidence that has been in the files since the beginning, and which the defense claims were created by the use of coercion in relation to the defendant Stefan Kovač, should be removed from the case file as legally invalid," Lekić said.
The judge said at the trial that after reviewing the sky communications, the court will decide on the proposal of lawyer Lekić to separate this evidence from the case file.
The continuation of the trial is scheduled for June 27 at the High Court in Podgorica.
