Since this morning, the Nikšić police have been calling and taking statements from some Sutjeska fans, who last night before the start of the Montenegro Cup final, sang: "Knife, wire, Podgorica".
"Vijesti" learned that it is about 40 fans.
"Statements and identification of all those who inappropriately chanted last night are being taken," the Police Directorate told "Vijesti".
After taking the statements and all the notifications, the police will submit the collected evidence, as well as last night's videos of the behavior of the "Vojvode" fan group, to the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, which is competent to make a decision on whether the behavior of some of the fans from Nikšić contains elements for initiating criminal proceedings for speech hatred.
The High Prosecutor's Office officially told "Vijesta" that "they formed the case on their own initiative after last night's chanting by a group of fans of FK Sutjeska".
They also said that they had given an order to the Police Directorate to collect the necessary information, with the aim of elucidating the event in question and identifying the person who chanted "Knife, wire, Podgorica".
"After all the required data and evidence have been collected, the prosecution will analyze them and make a decision in the case," it says in the reply of the Higher Prosecutor's Office to "Vijesta".
Before the Cup final of their club with Arsenal, last night near the stadium near Gorica, the "Dukes" chanted a text that reminds of the most terrible events in this part of Europe after the Second World War: "Knife, wire, Podgorica".
This is a clear allusion to the cries of "Knife, wire, Srebrenica", glorifying the genocide in which 8.372 Bosniaks perished from July 11 to 19, 1995.
