The prosecutor of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, Maja Janković, was sent to work in the Special State Prosecutor's Office, because this was requested by the Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović from the Prosecutor's Council half a year ago.
The decision to refer prosecutor Janković to the SDT was made by the Prosecutor's Council, at an electronic session on May 24, 2023, due to the urgent nature of the work and the increased volume of work in that prosecutor's office.
Prosecutor Janković started at the SDT on Thursday, June 1, and she can stay at that prosecutor's office for a maximum of two years.
She is the fifth plaintiff, who in the past 12 months was sent to assist the SDT, at the request of GST Vladimir Novović.
Prosecutors Vukas Radonjić, Jovan Vukotić and Tanja Čolan Deretić were sent to the SDT last year, while prosecutor Jelena Protić arrived from the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica in February of this year.
In a request at the beginning of the year, GST asked the Prosecutor's Council to appoint Protić, Janković and the prosecutor from Bijelo Polje, Vladan Đalović, to him for a period of two years, due to the urgency of working in cases and the increased workload of that prosecution.
Prosecutor Đalović then accepted the proposal to move from Bijelo Polje to Podgorica, but for family reasons, he asked to postpone the move for a few months. Janković immediately agreed to come to the SDT, but the decision of the TS was waited for almost half a year.
Prosecutor Janković, as well as other prosecutors who transferred to SDT for two years, have the right to a special allowance in the amount of 60 percent of the basic salary.
At the electronic session, the Supreme Court granted the request of the special prosecutor Sanja Jovićević, who requested that, due to her obligations in that body as a member of the Prosecutor's Council from among the prosecutors, she be allowed to spend 50 percent of her working time in the Supreme Court.
