British George Cottrell he flew two nights ago on a private plane from Tivat airport to London, but at the border crossing he showed the police a passport that stated his name George Co, the "News" find out.
Kotrel was recently accused by Montenegrin politicians of illegally financing the Evropa Now Movement, as well as that the machine for buying and selling cryptocurrencies in Tivat is his.
The "Vijesti" source claims that Cottrell entered Montenegro for the last time on February 1, 2023, and that he previously crossed the state border about fifteen times in the last few years with a passport in the name of George Co.
With the same passport, in January 2020, in Montenegro, Cottrell founded the company "Private family office", based in Tivat.
According to the available data, that company has 11 employees, and is registered for combined office-administrative services.
Co was registered as founder and executive director in the Central Register of Business Entities until October 2020. On the penultimate day of October of that year, a request was made for Co to leave the company, and he was listed as the executive director Gustaf Armand Oscar Sander.
That company has accumulated around half a million euros in losses.
Leader of the Movement for Change, Nebojsa Medojevic, recently said Cottrell financed the election campaign of the Movement Europe Now, and the Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanović said that an illegal crypto machine in Tivat is connected with him.
Inspectors of the Economic Crime Suppression Sector found, as they said, Cottrell's illegal crypto machine on June 8, in Tivat's Salon Prive, a private club for games of chance.
However, the lawyer Ratko Pantović he said that the crypto machine is not Kottrell's but the property of the company "Global Trust Limited" and that it was set up in June 2022. He also announced that the owner of that company is his client Hon Kong Yong.
He also claimed that Salon Prive was searched illegally, because the police officers did not have court approval, but also that his clients did not finance PES.
Who is Cottrell
Cottrell comes from an aristocratic London family and was raised and educated on a private island, and when he went to college, he was kicked out for illegal gambling.
He was a formal director of several businesses in his youth, both in Great Britain and in other countries, and since 2013 he has worked in banks such as Credit Suisse and JP Morgan.
Cottrell was politically active in Britain, especially during Brexit.
He was one of the advisers Nigel Farage, a former British and European Member of Parliament and one of the most vocal advocates of Great Britain's exit from the European Union, and was in charge of raising money for UKIP (United Kingdom Independence Party), until he was arrested in the United States of America.
In July 2016, he was arrested in Chicago and charged with money laundering, fraud, blackmail and extortion.
The indictment alleges that in 2014 he met with undercover federal agents in Las Vegas and arranged to launder millions of dollars in drug money through offshore bank accounts.
In December 2016, he reached a deal with prosecutors and 20 counts were dismissed in exchange for pleading guilty to wire fraud in which he explained various ways money could be laundered.
He spent eight months in prison.
Farage was with Cottrell at the time of his arrest at the Chicago airport, as they were traveling to the annual conference of the US Republican Party ahead of that year's presidential election, which he won. Donald Trump.

Kotrel's legal representative, lawyer Ratko Pantović, told "Vijesta" that his client flew out of Montenegro on June 11 due to previously assumed obligations.
"It is incorrect that he crossed the border with a fake passport. Quite regularly, with his original travel document, he went through passport control at the Tivat Border Crossing and boarded his private plane. This is not unusual either, because he always uses a private plane and does not fly commercial flights," he said.
He explained that Kortel's plane took off at 19.30:XNUMX p.m.
"I repeat, with the only passport he has and with which he has entered and left Montenegro at least a hundred times so far," he said.
