Nikšić: Two persons arrested, arsenal of weapons seized

Nikšićani Đ.P. (32) and VP (39) were arrested, by order of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in that municipality, on suspicion of having committed a criminal offense - illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials.

Nikšić police today, in a joint action with the officers of Border Police Station I, in the border zone, in the town of Koravlica, searched several buildings and found and seized four rifles, a pistol, half a kilogram of explosives, 677 pieces of ammunition of various types and calibers and other illegal items.

In this morning's search of the apartment and other rooms used by Đ.P. a hunting rifle was found in illegal possession, two leather cases in which there were 68 cartridges from a hunting rifle, as well as 52 pieces of ammunition of different types and calibers, the Police Administration announced.

During the search of the facilities at the location used by the VP, the police found and confiscated a "TT - M57" pistol, three rifles - semi-automatic, M48 and hunting, a leather scabbard, three automatic rifle frames, about half a kilogram of explosives, four detonator capsules, two detonator lighters , one electric-detonator cartridge and a total of 557 pieces of ammunition of various types and calibers.

The seized weapon, as reported, was in illegal possession and will be the subject of an expert examination at the Forensic Center of the Police Administration.
