In Montenegro, during the weekend, 69 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Police Administration said that 40 traffic accidents occurred during the weekend, in which three people were seriously injured and 16 were slightly injured.
Traffic police officers filed 252 misdemeanor reports, issued 1.534 misdemeanor warrants, confiscated 46 pairs of license plates and excluded the same number of vehicles from traffic.
"69 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, 17 of them in Podgorica and 11 each in Bar and Kolašin," the announcement says.
According to reports, five drivers were sanctioned in Kolašin who were found to be driving a vehicle with an expired traffic license.
"In one case, a misdemeanor charge was filed against both the legal entity and the person responsible in the legal entity, because they allowed the driver to drive a vehicle with an expired traffic license," added the police.
They appealed to all traffic participants to respect traffic regulations and thereby contribute to both personal and other traffic participants' safety.
