The President of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević announced that it is up to the prosecution to round up the material evidence and facts in the case of the former director of the Police Administration, Veselin Veljović.
He said, as reported by the RTCG portal, that because of the information about the attempted assassination of a high-ranking police official, he deserves to convene a new session of the National Security Council.
Miloš Konatar from the Civil Movement URA pointed out that historical things are happening and the biggest attacks on the structures of organized crime.

Knežević and Konatar commented on yesterday's arrest of Veljović after the session of the Security and Defense Committee was postponed due to lack of quorum.
"The arrest of Veselin Veljović is not spectacular media news. What he is accused of is symptomatic, as something completely different compared to what appeared in the media. As far as I understand, he is not directly linked to cigarette smuggling..." said Knežević.
He pointed out that it is up to the prosecution to round up the material evidence and facts.
"The attempted assassination of a high-ranking police official is new information, and I think it deserves to hold a session of the National Security Council because it is a very serious topic," Knežević pointed out.
Konatar assessed that historical things are happening and the biggest attacks on the structures of organized crime, which, as he said, reach the highest security functions.
"Despite all the obstructions we see these days, the tentacles of that octopus reach parts of the political parties, the media, the NGO sector... It is important that the state shows its strength to persevere and win this fight," said Konatar.
The former director of the Montenegrin police, Veselin Veljović, will most likely appear before the investigating judge of the Podgorica High Court today. On the order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, he was arrested yesterday morning, and he is charged with providing official information to Aleksandar Mrkić and thus helping him to commit certain acts of smuggling.
