During the previous two days, the Kotor police conducted a local operation "Alcohol", during which 16 drivers were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, two of whom were arrested, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
"The police filed 10 misdemeanor charges and handed out six misdemeanor warrants for driving under the influence of alcohol," the announcement states.
The UP added that one driver, who was arrested, was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol in his body at a concentration of 1,53 per thousand.
"The magistrate sentenced him to a fine of 385 euros and a protective measure of banning him from driving for three months," said the UP.
The press release states that the second driver, who was arrested, was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol at a concentration of 2,11 per thousand.
"The magistrate sentenced him to a fine in the amount of 750 euros and a protective measure prohibiting him from driving for four months," the announcement reads.
In addition, one driver was arrested for failing to stop at an officer's stop sign.
