Before the special panel presided over by Judge Igor Đuričković, the trial of the organizers of the criminal organization, the defendants Radovan Mujović and Vasilij Rafailović and the other defendants, continued today with the hearing of the defendants Mošo Paović and Aleksander Đurđevac in the High Court in Podgorica.
Both defendants denied the allegations in the indictment that they had become members of a criminal organization.
The defendant Đurđevac said that after 20 days spent in detention, a special police team came to him and that they tortured him.
"The escort service took me out. I was taken over by members of the special team. I was first in "marika", and then they took me to Kapino polje, a settlement in Nikšić. They hit me with their open palms and cursed me. I was in the back part of the "marica". One of the police officers who was there while they were torturing me said that they would not attack me anymore because my lawyer had come. They asked me to admit that the gun found in the vehicle was mine, which it wasn't. After I was taken to the SDT, I confessed everything because I saw how others who experienced police torture went through. They tortured me to accuse these people who are here today. It was done on the order of the prosecutor", the defendant Đurđevac claims.
Special prosecutor Nataša Bošković denied the allegations of the accused Đurđevac, that he was tortured on her order.
"I had no knowledge that something like that was happening," the prosecutor pointed out and added that it was not done on her order.
The accused Paović also denied the allegations in the indictment that he gave any money to anyone, and especially that he did not give 50.000 euros to the accused Vučinić. On the occasion of the event in UIKS, when Ranko Radulović was attacked, he said that the video shows that he did nothing and that he was just going for a walk when he heard something fall.
"Then the prison officers ran, I turned my back because I thought they were going to spray us with the spray they have. Nemanja Zurovac can also be seen on the video, who did not do anything illegal," said Paović in his defense. Although it was planned for the defendant Uroš Vučinić to present his defense, the trial was interrupted today. His defense lawyer, Srđan Lješković, insisted that the court obtain the original recording of Vučinić's hearing in the SDT.
The trial was interrupted by the decision of the court panel, which decided to ask the SDT and the VDT to check if there is another recording of the interrogation of Uroš Vučinić. "You will see, judges, that every video from the accused here is original, that it shows the whole room. This is not the case with Uroš. "Officers of the special team entered his prison," said lawyer Lješković. He added that the bottom line is that Vučinić was being prepared to be a protected witness. The defense attorney stated that the court should also watch the footage of Vučinić being brought to the SDT, and that it would be seen that only he, unlike the others, was brought in by three BMWs and escorted by police officers of the special team. Prosecutor Bošković stated that she conducted the hearing at the premises of the VDT.
