The Minister of Internal Affairs, Filip Adžić, said that all the conditions have been created for putting the city's video surveillance system into operation.
"The system (Podgorica, Bar, Budva) is a powerful tool whose primary purpose is to preserve security and protect citizens. Using advanced technologies, which enable continuous monitoring of public areas, which significantly contributes to the prevention and resolution of criminal activities," Adžić wrote on Facebook.
According to him, the system provides a wide range of functionality, including recognition of vehicle license plates, identification of persons and objects, and detection of traffic violations and support in the process of sanctioning negligent traffic participants.
"In the coming period, the expansion of the infrastructure to other Montenegrin cities is planned, which will make this system the greatest ally of the security services and authorities in preventing and solving crimes," Adžić said.
