The second day of the search for the tourist from Moldova, who drowned in the water area of Sutomore on Friday afternoon, did not yield results today.
Teams of the Administration of Maritime Safety and Port Management of Montenegro (UPSUL) and other participants of the action, after a whole day's search, with the loss of daylight, were forced to stop the search, and they returned to the base around 17:XNUMX p.m.
The weather conditions today were much more favorable for the search than they were on Saturday, so two special so-called rescue scooters of the UPSUL and several smaller vessels, among them the dinghy of the Navy of Croatia.
The wind dropped today and there was no precipitation, so the sea gradually calmed down, but it still remained cloudy from the precipitation and the stormy southerly that had been blowing for the past two days. That is why RCUD divers could not join the search because they would not have seen anything underwater in the relatively shallow coastal zone, which is assumed to contain the body of the dead twenty-seven-year-old girl from Moldova somewhere at its bottom.
The rescuers therefore searched the water area between Ratac from the southeast and Black Cape from the northwest from a sea vessel and a drone from the air, with an emphasis on the most dangerous zone - the area immediately next to the coastal cliffs below Goli Brdo in Sutomor, where it is assumed that the body of the injured tourist most likely ended up .
According to UPSUL assistant director Žarko Lukšić, the portage operation will continue tomorrow morning with the involvement of the VCG Air Force helicopter, and the searchers have two days to do something more before the coastal region of Montenegro is again affected by a new major storm announced by meteorologists on Wednesday. .
In the meantime, the parents of the victim girl also arrived in Bar, who allegedly, until they heard about the tragedy, didn't even know that their daughter had traveled to Montenegro with a company in a van a few days ago. Young Moldovans brought with them the so-called SUP (stand up paddling board) paddleboards at sea with which they set sail from the Bar marina on Friday afternoon, despite the fact that at that time red flags were displayed on all surrounding beaches as a warning to bathers that entering the water is prohibited and dangerous.
Namely, at those moments, a storm was blowing from the south in Bar at a speed of almost 100 kilometers per hour, and the sea was force 5, so only completely inexperienced and unseaworthy people in such circumstances could go out on small paddleboards in the open sea.
A group of Moldovan tourists on the boards was then allegedly spotted by the crew of one of the tugboats that works in the Port of Bar and was sailing into the port, and by playing the ship's siren and signals, tried to warn them of dangerous conditions at sea and make the girls and the young men on the boards to return to the shore, but it was unsuccessful.
Not long after, a tragedy occurred near Sutomore, where unwary Moldovan tourists were swept away by strong winds and waves. Desperately under the big waves, they tried to reach the Sutomore beach, in which the three of them succeeded, while their friend, who, as it turned out in the meantime, neither knew how to swim nor was wearing a life jacket, unfortunately drowned in the about twenty meters from the shore.
