At least fourteen people were detained yesterday in Tivat, in a major operation to combat human trafficking and the prostitution ring, "Vijesti" has learned unofficially.
According to the same information, among those arrested is a Ukrainian with American citizenship, who is suspected of being the organizer of a prostitution ring.

"Vijesti" learned that the police raided a luxury Tivat hotel yesterday in the early hours of the morning, from where they took 14 girls to the police station, predominantly from Russia, Ukraine and one from Israel.
They were brought to the prosecutor's office last night.
During the search, the police seized pornographic material.
The Police Administration officially announced that an American citizen, VG (43), who is suspected of human trafficking, was arrested in Tivat.
"Officials of the Police Administration, acting on the orders of the investigating judge of the Basic Court in Kotor, searched seven rooms of a hotel in Tivat. In the mentioned rooms, 18 foreign citizens of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Israel, as well as 10 foreign citizens of the United States of America, were found. Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Greece. The search of these premises found and seized 16.735 euros, 14.394 US dollars, 73.323 Ukrainian hryvnias, 5.550 Russian rubles, 2.330 Polish zlotys, 40 British pounds and 40 Turkish lira. Also, 36 mobile phones were found, eight laptops, two tablet computers, three cameras, two video cameras, as well as a large number of SIM cards and USB memory sticks. After the search, the mentioned foreign nationals entered the official premises of the Tivat Security Department," the announcement states.
The Police Directorate added that after criminal investigations and consultations with the prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor and the prosecutor in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, an American citizen of VG was arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of human trafficking to the detriment of a 21-year-old person.
"Based on the measures and actions taken, the police came to suspect that VG on several occasions during 2023, using his poor financial condition, separation from his family, the fact that he had previously been physically abused by an emotional partner, offered the injured party financial assistance, calling is to travel to Montenegro for socializing. He paid for her plane tickets for flights to Montenegro and accommodation facilities, and she was photographed naked by a person unknown to her. Also, that person unknown to her filmed the victim in order to create a pornographic video, with the promise which VG gave to the injured party that the aforementioned video material would be exclusively for his private use, while the injured party did all this because she was conditioned to pay the travel and accommodation expenses in that way," the statement reads.
The Police Administration said that all foreign nationals, by order of the senior state prosecutor, accompanied by officers of the Tivat Security Department and the Tivat Center for Social Work, were relocated to safe facilities on the territory of Montenegro.
"A criminal complaint was filed against VG to the senior state prosecutor in Podgorica on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of human trafficking, and today he was taken to that prosecutor's office for further jurisdiction," the statement concludes.
