The High Court has extended the detention of the former assistant director of the Police Administration, Dejan Knežević, pending further court decisions, "Vijesti" unofficially learns.
The Appellate Court of Montenegro annulled the earlier decision of the High Court in Podgorica, which extended Dejan Knežević's detention after the indictment, and the case was returned to the first-instance court for a new decision. However, with a new decision, the High Court extended the detention.
Today, the Special State Prosecutor's Office handed over the indictment against Ljub Milović, Radoj Zvicer, Petr Lazović, Dejan Knežević and 17 other people for the unauthorized production of drugs to the Special Department for Trials for Criminal Offenses of Organized Crime, Corruption, Terrorism and War Crimes of the High Court in Podgorica. money laundering, illegal possession of weapons, disclosure of secret information and abuse of official position.
Among the accused are Vladimir Bajčetić, who was arrested a few months ago, as well as former police officer Ivan Stamatović, as well as Nebojša Bugarin.
Dejan Knežević is the former assistant director of the Police Directorate, and he was arrested for disclosing secret information. Božidar Jabučanin, who was mentioned as the owner of the Podgorica Hotel, was also accused. Milo Božović, president of Budva Municipality and former police officer Mileta Ojdanić are among the accused. The list of accused also includes Dražen Milović, who was arrested in Russia a few months ago and extradition proceedings are ongoing.
