The trade union organization of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (AKS) called on the director of the ASK Jelena Perović and the management to resign, and to stop ruining the reputation of the institution and the functions they perform.
"How to preserve the independence of an Agency that is too dependent? How to preserve the integrity of an institution in which the director suspends 13 of his employees without reason? How to ensure non-selectivity in work when cases and reports that do not suit her and her informal bosses are not acted upon? How to ensure accountability when no one controls the director's work? The questions are unanswered by the institutions and without direct comments from domestic and international partners," said the trade union organization.
They point out that employees are only asking for equal treatment and the opportunity to work, that parties are asking for equal treatment, promptness and handling of their petitions, that public officials are demanding equal treatment.
"All this remains impossible in the conditions of the current functioning of the management with numerous suspicions about the unethical use of public resources without any control. Everyone in Croj Gora hoped that numerous trips with their friends and family at the expense of the state, expensive cars, numerous expensive telephones and telephone numbers, unlimited representation, fuel and illegal maximum amounts of compensation will lead to the rule of law and fair treatment. Everyone hoped that the ASK Council headed by Momčilo Radulović, as a representative of the NGO sector, would control the work of the directors, despite our persistent pointing out of omissions, which it was his only important jurisdiction. Unfortunately, we were mistaken," they said.
In the announcement, they point out that Perović waged a war with the ASK Union, which she persistently accused of harming the institution's work and reputation recently:
"Hereby, we are telling you to turn more to yourself and reconsider your actions and decisions, both towards the members of the Union, and those concerning other decisions, which caused an avalanche of name-calling in the media. The union understands the concerns of the ASK management lately, but at the same time and says that it must be understood that the Trade Union cannot help them in solving the problem, but it can give honest advice, which is to resign, and to stop ruining the reputation of the institution and the function they perform".
