Mladen Samardžija, one of the most wanted fugitives in Europe and a suspected associate of the "Kavak clan", was arrested today in an operation by the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime and the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ) of the MUP of the Republic of Srpska, ATV has learned.
Samardžija was arrested in Jahorina on suspicion of being involved in drug trafficking.
He has reportedly been on the run from the Slovenian judiciary for a long time, as a warrant has been issued for him for involvement in organized crime.
The warrant is available on the website of the Slovenian police, and it is also on the list of the 50 most wanted fugitives of the European Union on the eumostwanted.eu page. He is wanted for avoiding coming to court, where he is being prosecuted for organized crime and drug trafficking.
Citing documents from the investigation, the Slovenian media stated that Samardžija was considered a heroin supplier who was targeted by undercover investigators of the Slovenian police in August 2020.
