A new interdepartmental team will prepare a new assessment of the Mid-Term Review of the Risk Assessment of Serious and Organized Crime - SOCTA, Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Internal Policy, European and Foreign Affairs Aleksa Bečić said after the session.
A new interdepartmental team will also be formed that will deal with the collection and exchange of data on persons for whom national and international warrants have been issued.
"The interdepartmental teams will submit reports on their work to the Bureau for Operational Coordination on a monthly basis," said Bečić.
Bečić is the coordinator of the Bureau for Operational Coordination.
"Also, at today's session, the Bureau concluded that the current security situation is stable, with the continued existence of identified security risks and challenges, primarily manifested through the activity of the structures of serious and organized crime, and that the security sector authorities are obliged to intensify preventive, intelligence and operational investigative activities," said Bečić.
He added that the bodies of the intelligence and security sector are obliged to intensify the mutual exchange of data in the coming period, to innovate cooperation modalities, especially in the part of implementing joint activities in the fight against organized crime and corruption, to submit proposals for the formation of interdepartmental working groups in order to realize common tasks. increase interoperability by establishing channels for access and data exchange, as well as to regularly report to the Bureau on the results of activities.
"The Bureau tasked the competent authorities of the intelligence and security sector to prepare an analysis and provide the Bureau with information on the impact on the state of security of the previous decisions on temporary visa liberalization. The Bureau for Operational Coordination tasked the Ministry of Interior to intensify activities on drafting and adoption in cooperation with other competent authorities and institutions "Strategies for the fight against transnational organized crime for the period 2024-2027 and Strategies for improving traffic safety for the period 2024-2030. At today's session, the Bureau discussed other issues aimed at improving the cooperation and efficiency of the work of intelligence and security sector bodies." Becic said.
