Đorđi Pavićević was remanded in custody for up to 30 days, and the investigating judge of the Podgorica High Court made the same decision for Veljko Đuričić, Ivana and Nikica Kovačević, reports TVCG.
The High Court announced that custody was ordered for Pavićević due to the risk of influencing witnesses and the gravity of the crime, and the others due to the risk of influencing witnesses, Portal RTCG reports.
The news announced this morning that dozens of containers full of illegal cigarettes were allegedly smuggled by a criminal group managed by Baran's Đorđije Pavićević.
According to the same information, the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) accuses that team of having smuggled at least three ships loaded with those tobacco products.
Pavićević - owner of Basketball Club Mornar from Bar, his former employee Nikica Kovačević and customs officials Ivana Kovačević and Veljko Đuričić were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of committing a criminal offense - creating a criminal organization, falsifying an official document and smuggling by aiding and abetting.
