The suspect in the murder of Vlaović was hospitalized after swallowing a razor blade

Prisoner Duško Tanasković (30) from Serbia, who is on trial in Croatia for the liquidation of Montenegrin citizen Goran Vlaović, who was killed in 2022 in Pag, was hospitalized on Monday in Split due to injuries to his mouth and throat that occurred after he most likely swallowed in his cell razor blade, reports Slobodna Dalmacija, referring to unofficial information.

After treatment in the hospital, and because of the alleged refusal to cooperate with the doctors, Tanasković was returned to prison the same day. However, the day after, on Tuesday, he was again transported to the Split hospital under the escort of armed police special forces.

Vlaović was allegedly a member of the Skaljar criminal clan.

Judge Ana Brkić, who is presiding over Tanasković's case, did not receive an official notification from the Split prison, and his lawyer from Split, Vinko Gulišija, did not have any information either, writes Slobodna Dalmacija. The Croatian Ministry of Justice briefly answered for that media that "an investigation prisoner was taken from the prison in Split to an external health facility due to suspicion of possible blade ingestion."

The same media reports, referring to unofficial information, that Tanasković was transferred from Zadar to Split prison in November last year due to security reasons. Even while he was in Zadar, as it turned out later at the trial, he swallowed razors wrapped in duct tape and lighters.
