Police officers Milan Bojić and Marinko Šćekić said that Miroslav Vuković, driving the excavator of the "Car invest" company, acted "immorally" and "bloodthirsty" during the removal of vehicles during the demolition of the barricade set up by citizens on the Adžić curve on September 5, 2021.
They said this while testifying in the Basic Court in Cetinje, in the trial against Miroslav Vuković.
He is accused of damaging several passenger and cargo vehicles while driving the "Car invest" excavator on September 5, 2021, during the demolition of the barricade set up by the citizens on the Adžić curve.
As reported by Radio Cetinje, Bojić stated during the trial that he recorded most of the events on September 5, emphasizing that he has a video recording.
Bojić and Šćekić, as they claim, were present the entire time during the demolition of the barricades.
In front of the court, Šćekić described the action of demolishing the barricades, stating that the way excavator Vuković did it was "immoral".
"Cars were flipping in the air, it was shocking for me to watch, and in my opinion they were purposefully destroyed unnecessarily. I have been working in the traffic police for a long time, and if the object is removed from the roadway, it can be removed gently and not arrogantly. I am only watched in movies," said Šćekić, reports Radio Cetinje.
Vuković resented Šćekić's statements, but Judge Branislav Leković admonished him saying that he cannot interrupt the witness while he is testifying.
Šćekić also said that the head of the Budva Security Center, Zoran Bubanja, called him by phone and told him, among other things, "that he is not allowed to record or photograph anything on the phone, nor to conduct a conversation."
He also stated that during the continuation of the event and before the removal of the barricades began, tear gas was used and there was a large amount of smoke, so that the valley - the city of Cetinje, and the buildings in that area could not be seen.
Vuković's defense attorney, lawyer Dejan Komnenović, objected to Šćekić's testimony, pointing out that it is indicative that the witness cannot state whether the police threw tear gas and whether the barricades were set on fire, all allegedly due to poor visibility, while he described in detail the manner in which Vuković destroyed vehicles on the road.
According to Bojić's testimony, Vuković pushed some vehicles away and overturned some. When asked by the prosecutor, Sanja Radunović, what the method of removing the vehicle looked like to him, Bojić answered "bloody".
"So, the excavator driver first removed the burning tires, and then the tow truck that was behind the tires - a barricade on the bend itself, in such a way that he pushed it to the left with the working machine. Further, the excavator driver removed several vehicles from the roadway by pushing them, and several overturned, in the way that he lifted one side of the vehicle with the bucket of the work machine and thus overturned it on its side. While this action was going on, there was smoke as I described, but it was not at the location where these vehicles are located that the excavator removes from the roadway. Me and a colleague Šćekić, we are 200 to 300 meters from the scene of the event, from these barricades from which we observe the event. Even at this distance, I felt the tear gas, my eyes burned, but not to the extent that I could not stand it. I also saw that the driver was working machine flipped one vehicle onto its roof, but I cannot say what type of vehicle it was and what color it was, it was a smaller passenger vehicle. To me, the removal of the vehicle seemed "bloody" in the sense that they were not protected from damage, and I think they could have been removed without major damage," Bojić said.
Vuković's defense attorney stated that Bojić's testimony contradicted a good part of Šćekić's testimony as well as that of previously heard witnesses.
Bojić also stated that he recorded most of the events, stressing that he has a video recording.
Prosecutor Radunović, reports Radio Cetinje, suggested that in the continuation of the court proceedings that video recording be inspected, while the defense objected to the introduction of evidence, because from the statements of the witnesses themselves, according to lawyer Komnenović, it follows that the evidence was obtained by violating human rights.
Komnenović proposed to the court to hear the director of the Police Administration, Zoran Brđanin. Judge Leković said that the court will decide on this in the continuation of the proceedings.
The main trial will continue at the end of February, when police officer Miodrag Drobac will be heard as a witness.
