The beginning of the trial of Slobodan Kašćelan and 13 other defendants, who are charged with the creation of a criminal organization, aggravated murder of Nikola Stanišić, in an insidious manner, and aggravated murder by aiding and abetting, was postponed to March 13 in the Podgorica High Court.
Independent advisor for public relations of that court, Marija Raković, told Vijesti that the main trial was postponed because the extradition of two defendants - from Kosovo and from France - is pending.
In addition to Kašćelan, the indictment includes the alleged head of the Kavac clan Radoje Zvicer from Kotor, and his fellow citizens Dragan and Milan Knežević, Krsto Maroš and Miloš Radonjić, then Srđan Jurišević from Tivat, Radoje Živković from Nikšić, Vladimir Vučković and Zdravko Perunović, Milan Vujotić from Podgorica, Aleksandar Dragićević, Zoran Kažić and Darko Prelević from Pljevlja.
According to the indictment, Kašćelan's criminal group followed Stanišić's movements and habits for five days, and then kidnapped and killed him on the night between August 2 and 3, 2020.
In that file of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, on July 27, 2020, Kažić and Dragićević began to observe Stanisić's house and his movements with cameras and binoculars provided to them by Radoje Zvicer, and based on that information, they determined when and where the most favorable moment to intercept and abduct the victim.
They also state that Milan Knežević informed Kazić, and the latter to the other members of the group, that on August 1, at around 16 pm, Stanisić left home on a motorcycle in the direction of Kotor - Trojica - Vrmac.
On the wagon road towards the Vrmac fortress, Vučković, Jurišević and Radonjić intercepted him from an ambush, and then hit him on the head with a metal bar and knocked him to the ground, then tied him with a rope and put him in the "BMW".
In the indictment, it is written that according to a pre-made plan they headed towards Njeguši, and that during the entire drive to the destination, Kašćelan's team tortured Stanišić so that he would give them the code of his encrypted phone and reveal the plans of the rival Skaljar clan. On the instructions of Kašćelan, the group took Stanišić back to the town of Mirac, where Kašćelan arrived soon accompanied by Perunović.
As stated in the indictment, they took all of Stanisic's clothes off, and then, under beatings, demanded that he reveal to them who he worked for, where the staves and weapons of the skalarians were.
On the night between August 2 and 3, they informed Stanišić that he would not see the day and heard the victim's request to pray. Just as he was praying, they fired several shots into his head, the indictment says.
