In this morning's action in Cetinje, the official of the Branch for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in the capital Marko Pejaković (51) was arrested, and he is suspected of illegally issuing weapons permits, abusing his official position.
A criminal complaint has also been filed against the former head of the Regional Unit for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in Cetinje, Olivera Krivokapić (63), for the same criminal act, the Police Administration announced.
That institution officially confirmed the information that Vijesti published this morning about the police action in Cetinje.
In the UP press release, it is written that the officers of the Sector for the fight against crime, the Department for the fight against corruption, economic crime and the implementation of financial investigations, in the continuation of the national action "Browning", this morning searched several locations in Cetinje and other cities of Montenegro, and on that occasion it was confiscated 13 firearms and ammunition.
"Out of that eight pieces of long-barreled firearms, four pieces of short-barreled firearms, one barrel and 804 pieces of ammunition. Due to the suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position for an extended period, the police deprived the officer in charge of the issue of weapons certificates in the Branch for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in Cetinje M.P. (51), while a criminal complaint was filed in regular proceedings against the former head of the Regional Unit for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in Cetinje O.K. (63), for the same criminal act," the press release points out. UP.
The statement adds that it is suspected that O.K and M.P, from 2019 to 2022, illegally using their official position, and acting contrary to the provisions of Article 13 of the Law on Weapons, issued approvals for the acquisition of weapons for three persons V.V., B.V. and E.M., from whom weapons were confiscated, as well as from other persons, which enabled them to acquire 28 firearms, contrary to legal regulations, where it has been established that they acted illegally in 17 separate cases and cases.
"The investigation is being conducted in relation to dozens of cases in which the suspects acted", said the Police Administration.
"Vijesti" announced this morning that an action by the Anti-Crime Sector (SBPK) is being carried out in Cetinje, aimed at detecting cases of abuse of official position, and that searches are being conducted in several locations, as well as that police officers are searching officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) who allegedly illegally issued permits to carry weapons for several persons.
