Supervisors of the Skadar Lake National Park were attacked last night, and poachers tried to stab one of them with a spear.
According to Vijesti, the incident happened in the area of Pijeska.
Allegedly, after the head of the supervisory service, Vuk Saičić, identified himself to them, and asked them to do the same, the two poachers first started to run away, and then attacked Saičić and the JPNP Skadar Lake team.
In the video provided to Vijesti, it can be seen that the game wardens try to stop the poachers, but they break away and start to beat them.
The Police Administration unofficially told Vijesti that they are looking for the attackers.
The director of JP National Parks of Montenegro, Vladimir Martinović, announced that last night, during the performance of work duties, the supervisors of NP Skadarsko Lake were attacked at their workplace.
"Brave supervisors unarmed entered into a confrontation with armed poachers. We are asking for adequate support from the police and the prosecutor's office. Many people do not like our fight against poaching, gamekeepers are endangered and we require systemic support in order to deal with business worth hundreds of thousands of euros. We will continue with the same intensity to we are fighting against poaching, and this and similar attempts will certainly not shake us in the strong fight to protect the most valuable areas of Montenegro," he said.
