The civil movement URA sent its support to the National Parks of Montenegro and the officials who were "attacked last night in a brave fight against poaching", as a "decade-long scourge" that seriously threatens the biodiversity of Montenegro
Two supervisors of the Protection Service on Lake Skadar were injured by poachers last night, and the URA stated that it expects an adequate response from the Police Administration and the State Prosecutor's Office for the attackers and a punishment that "will be an example to all others" not to engage in illegal activities.
"In the fight against poaching, every competent institution of the state must be united in its intention to fight this type of crime, which annually earns hundreds of thousands of euros from illegal fishing activities in lakes, rivers and the sea," adds the URA.
They also said that in recent days they recognize the intention of "individuals close to the poaching lobby to spread fake news and spin to try to humiliate the work and results of the leadership of the NPCG led by Vladimir Martinović, which are historic", and when it comes to the fight against poaching, "record revenues, suppression of all kinds of abuses in the work of that state institution, but also extraordinary cooperation" with non-governmental organizations and eco-activists.
