Pljevljak Danko Danilović he told the investigating authorities that he did not know who the man was who offered him to transport two bags of marijuana from Podgorica to Belgrade, but that he accepted to complete the job for compensation of 100 euros per kilogram of the drug.
This is written in the files of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bjelopolje, on the basis of which the Supreme Court extended the detention of the thirty-nine-year-old.
Danilović was arrested on October 16, 2023, after the police found about 25 kilograms of marijuana in the truck he was driving.
He told the investigation, the judges write, that he received a message from a person through the "Signal" application, in which he offered to transport two bags of marijuana from Podgorica to Belgrade. He said that the man told him that for that service he would pay him 100 euros per kilogram of marijuana that he would transport.
"He agreed to that, so he picked up the goods in Podgorica and transported them to Belgrade with the R line truck, where he handed over the two bags to a person unknown to him, and according to a previous agreement with the person memorized on the "Signal" application as MM No he knows how much was transported at that time... because he did not open those two bags, but he was told that they contained ten kilograms of marijuana each".
It is reported that he told the investigators that later - on October 16, 2023, he also received a message from the same person via the "Signal" application, in which it was stated that he would be picked up at the "Voli" logistics center in Podgorica on the way to Zeta , to wait for another person who will hand over the goods to him.
He also gave him the phone number of that person and told him that he should transport the goods to Prijepolje, where a person whose name was not given to him would be waiting for him... He then told the prosecutors that he informed the organizer that he had arrived at the destination, after which, five minutes later, a passenger motor vehicle with Podgorica license plates parked next to his truck.
"An unknown man with a large build, about 1,75 - 1,80 tall, was bald and had a black beard got out of the vehicle and took out two black travel bags from the car and put them in the truck's cabin on the top bed. He did not open those bags, but he knew that they contained marijuana. In Kolašin... he was controlled by the traffic police and when asked by the inspector if there was anything illegal in the truck, he said that there was and showed him two black passenger bags and told them that they contained marijuana".
He also said that he was not paid for the service of transporting marijuana, because he was told that "they will pay him everything in total within 5-6 days".
"... The well-founded suspicion also stems from the confirmation of the temporarily confiscated items of the MUP-OB Podgorica dated 16.10. 2023, in which two black travel bags containing 22 PVC packages containing a dark green vegetable substance similar to the narcotic drug marijuana were seized from the defendant, as well as from the certificate of temporarily seized items from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Podgorica dated October 16, 10 year, from which it follows that money in the total amount of EUR 2023 was temporarily taken from Danilović Danko", the court states.
On October 19, 2023, it was decided to conduct an investigation against the defendant Danko Danilović due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.
They state that the investigation could not be completed during the detention period for objective reasons, and given that the reports of the Danilovgrad Forensic Center on DNA and physical-chemical expertise, which were requested by the order of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, have not been received.
"Based on the proposal of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, it is proposed to extend the detention of the defendant DD due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense charged against him... Bearing in mind the gravity of the criminal offense for which the defendant is reasonably suspected of being a criminal offense ... the prescribed prison sentence of two to ten years, as well as the severity of the sentence he can expect in case he is found guilty... and the fact that the defendant is employed as a driver... and that he travels from Montenegro to Serbia twice a week ... all of which indicates that he has developed personal, business and social ties outside of Montenegro from which he can expect help in escaping and hiding, all of the above in its entirety, according to the order of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, leads to the conclusion of the existence of circumstances that indicate the risk of the accused fleeing in the event that he is at large. Therefore, in the opinion of this court, the stated facts indicate that in this particular case there are circumstances that point to the danger of the defendant's escape, so the proposal of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje to extend custody is justified."
