The Council for National Security proposed the preparation of an assessment of the degree of threat to the Minister of Justice, Andrej Milović.
In the statement after the session of the National Security Council, it was not specified why they are asking for it.
Milović recently announced in a television show that he believes he is threatened.
As stated in the announcement, the Council also considered the current security situation in the country.
"The council states that the security situation in the country is stable and that all the intelligence and security sector bodies will continue to work even more dedicatedly on strengthening the fight against organized crime and corruption, preserving peace and security," the announcement states.
The Council, it is added, adopted the Guidelines for the work of the Intelligence and Security Directorate of the Ministry of Defense for 2024-2025. which defines the goals and priorities in the planning, development and implementation of military intelligence, counterintelligence and security affairs in the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Montenegro, which refer to a certain period of time.
The draft Strategy for response to hybrid threats 2024-2028 was also discussed, with the accompanying Draft Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy, and a procedure was initiated regarding changes to the Decision on the establishment of an interdepartmental commission for countering hybrid threats, which will be in charge of preparing the Strategy and monitoring the implementation of action plans.
"The Council proposed the preparation of an assessment of the degree of endangerment of the Minister of Justice, Andrej Milović. At the session, full support was given to the competent institutions in all activities to combat organized crime, and especially in revealing the link between organized criminal groups and members of the security sector," the announcement concludes.
