The Greek police arrested Albanian citizen Abbas Rabi (44), who is allegedly involved in the murders of four members of the Montenegrin mafia in the suburbs of Athens and on the island of Corfu in 2020, he announced. Balkan Insight.
The police said that Rabija participated in the storage and transportation of the weapons used in the murders in the suburbs of Athens, as well as in the escape of the gang members after the murder in Corfu, from Sivota to Halkidiki, and then abroad. The police told BIRN that they have no information about where they got the weapons.
Rabi was arrested on February 27 and a gun, magazines and 40 bullets were found in his house. The case file was submitted to the prosecutors, while the alleged perpetrator was sent to the investigator.
Alleged members of the Šljara clan, Igor Dedović and Stevan Stamatović, were killed in a restaurant in the suburbs of Atzina in January 2020 while they were having lunch with their families.
In July 2020, according to the Greek police, alleged members of the Skaljar clan, Alan Kožar and Damir Hadžić, were also killed in a villa on Halikouna beach in Corfu.
Balkan Insight. writes that evidence suggests that behind the killings in Corfu lies a contract killing worth 1,5 million euros - part of a bloody war between two notorious clans - the Kavački and Skaljarski.
