All seven applicants for the position of temporary chief of police were polygraph tested yesterday, but four did not pass the lie detector, while for one it was not possible to determine the results, "Vijesti" learns.
"Two persons passed the polygraph, four did not, while one could not be subjected to the polygraph due to his health condition, but the same person does not meet the requirements," said a "Vijesti" source familiar with the test results.
The newspaper's interlocutors claim that the candidates answered key questions about possible connections with members of organized crime, but also connections with politics and political parties.
The polygraph was offered to candidates in the public invitation and the form defined by the Government, when it decided to dismiss the current director Zoran Brđanin at the electronic session of March 3. It was stated there that the refusal of the polygraph, which is not evidence in court, is not an eliminatory condition for application, but all candidates accepted the test.
Today, the government should discuss the election of the acting director of the Police Administration, because today is the last day for Brđanin in the seat of the first policeman, at the session scheduled for 15 pm.
Aleksandar Radović is mentioned as one of the favorites of PES for the position of acting head of the Police Directorate, while the assistant director of the Sector for the fight against crime, Lazar Šćepanović, is allegedly a competitor of Minister Danilo Saranović for that position.
Of the seven officers of the Police Administration for acting director, three current assistants are also in the running. Minister of the Interior Danilo Šaranović (DCG) was supposed to interview everyone yesterday...
Allegedly, there is still no political agreement on Brđanin's successor, because Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and his PES do not prefer the same candidates that the Democrats claim would best respond to this complex task, so changing the decision on the dismissal of Brđanin is one of the options, so that the police are not left without leading man.
The head of the Sector for Financial and Intelligence Affairs, Aleksandar Radović, is the only one of the registered candidates to have a five-year contract as an assistant director of the police, because the Government, when Filip Adžić was the Minister of the Interior, first entrusted him with a temporary position in January last year, and then on July 6, a full one. mandate.
In 1999, Radović started working in the MUP as a police officer, and then graduated from the Faculty of Law at the same time. He was a member of the working group Chapter 24 - Justice, Freedom and Security, after which, as insiders claim, he was a trusted staff member of former police chief Veselin Veljović from 2015 to 2021 as a liaison officer of the Police Directorate at EUROPOL in The Hague.
After returning from the Netherlands, he was in the Department for the Suppression of Serious Crimes, which at the time was headed by Assistant Director Dejan Knežević, and then for half a year he was the coordinator of the Group for Investigations of Criminal Offenses of High Corruption and Money Laundering in SPO...
It was him, as his witness, who was proposed by the disgraced Knežević, who, according to the accusations of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), was allegedly part of a criminal organization and gave information to police officers who worked for the Kavački clan.
Knežević mentioned Radović during the SDT investigation phase, in the context of delivering correspondence from the SKY application.
"Not long after he accepted this position, SKY material from EUROPOL began to arrive live, through unofficial channels, that is, through the Montenegrin liaison officer Aco Radović. He pointed out that in that period, everywhere in the world, SKY was alive, that is, it was an active platform, and that if he wanted to reveal that information to anyone, he would have done so when it was all live... It is true that personally he was the first to receive the SKY material at the time when SKY was alive and it lasted for about ten to fifteen days... And in connection with all these details, he proposed to listen to the liaison officer Aco Radović", interprets the prosecutor in the indictment Knežević's defense.
A day before the government dismissed the director of UP Zoran Brđanin for the third time, the name of Aleksandar Radović was mentioned as a desirable member of PES and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić for the acting position of head of UP.
Assistant Director of the Sector for Combating Crime, Lazar Šćepanović, is said to be Minister Saranović's favorite to cover the post of police chief in the acting period.
At the end of November 2023, it was Saranović who entrusted Šćepanović with managing the criminal investigation sector, which had been coordinated by SPO head Predrag Šuković since March last year.
Šćepanović worked as a policeman, a traffic policeman and a policeman in the intervention unit, and then from 2006 to 2011 he was a member of the A-team of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit.
After the SAJ, Šćepanović held numerous positions in the Nikšić Police Department, and from 2015 to 2019, he was also the head of the Unit for Suppression of General Crime in Nikšić, and then in the Criminal Police Department. Before being promoted to the position of assistant, he was the head of the Regional Security Center "West"
Assistant Director of the Border Police Sector Milutin Vasiljević graduated from the Military Academy, and since 2000 he has been an MUP/UP officer where he held numerous senior positions in PJP, CB Nikšić... From 2006 to 2011, he covered the position of Inspector of the Department for Operational Work in Sector of the border police, and then for two years he was a liaison officer in the UN mission in Cyprus.
After returning from the mission, Vasiljević covered the positions of border police commander, and then, a year ago, the former Minister of Internal Affairs, Filip Adžić, entrusted him with the Border Police Sector in acting status.
In police and political circles, it was mentioned that he is on the list of the current minister Saranović as a possible option, to lead the police apparatus with the acting decision.
Miloš Peković, who submitted the documentation to the public invitation of the MUP, at the proposal of the then Minister of Internal Affairs, was appointed to the post of commander of the Special Police Unit in mid-April 2021. Until then, Peković performed the duties of a commander in the PJP.
Among the registered candidates is the current chief of the Kolašin police, Zoran Braunović, who, on his own behalf and on behalf of his colleagues, asked the Parliamentary Committee for Security and Defense in 2021 that "due to mobbing on the day of the parliamentary elections in 2020, they organize a control hearing of the management of the Police Administration." .
On that day, before the opening of the polls, dozens of police officers were reassigned to alleged tasks outside their place of residence. The largest number of those from whom the bosses tried to take away their right to vote was in Podgorica, from where they were distributed to Danilovgrad, Cetinje, Kolašin...
Among those who, as they claimed, suffered mobbing on that day, Braunović also suffered discrimination.
A little more than a month ago, the President of the Committee for Security and Defense Miodrag Laković (PES) replied to the News that he would initiate a discussion on the prosecution of police officers at that parliamentary body on August 30, 2020...
Braunović was also in the race for UP director in 2021, and then he took the fourth position in the competition out of 19 registered candidates.
The head of the Regional Border Police Center "Centar", Petar Šestović, who in police and political circles is labeled as the favorite of PES, was reputed to be a close associate of the former first policeman Veselin Veljović, who since July last year, due to suspicion of being part of a criminal group, is in custody.
In 2009, Šestović was appointed by Veljović as head of CB Bijelo Polje. Three years later, Veljović's successor as head of the Montenegrin police, Božidar Vuksanović, appointed him chief of the Podgorica police. He was dismissed from that position already in March 2013...
In the past decade, he held numerous positions in the border police.
Milentije Doderović from Nikšić sent the documentation for the acting head of the UP, and the insiders claim that, from 2021, the unassigned staff in the UP system is a relative of former assistant Dragan Blagojević, and during the era of Veljović in the UP, he covered the position of commander for the security of facilities - the Government, Assembly...
Doderović is also the president of the judo club "Akademik", and his wife, Ana, is a prosecutor in ODT Nikšić.
