The President of the State, Jakov Milatović, says that an agreement between politicians is necessary regarding the election of the Acting Director of the Police Directorate.
Milatović told TVCG in Romania, where he is on an official visit, that political actors in the country must understand that democracy is not only a matter of a greater number of deputies, but also a way when each party should be in a position to find a compromise solution, which is socially good for the country to move forward.
"So what I expect from the decision-makers is that in the coming period they will be even more responsible and that they manage to find some compromise solutions, which will certainly be important for the rule of law in Montenegro and for democratic conditions in general and our democratic maturing," said Milatović, RTCG reports.
He also says that the issue of the rule of law will be even more important in the coming period.
"I think it's an important thing, I think the rule of law is very important, even more important in the coming period as we get closer to the European Union, and of course an agreement about the police director in that sense is necessary," concluded Milatović.
