Vladimir Erić denied that he participated in the burglary of the High Court depot, his defense lawyer Stefan Jovanović told Vijest.
Erić was questioned at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Podgorica on suspicion that he dug a tunnel to the High Court with a group of Serbian citizens and several Montenegrin citizens during August of the previous year, and then ransacked the court archives.
The defendant Erić completely denied the commission of the crime, presented his defense and answered the questions.
He said that he was not even in Montenegro at the time of the crime.
He was extradited to Montenegro from Sweden on March 20.
Erić was arrested in mid-October in Sweden on the warrant of NCB Interpol Podgorica on suspicion of having participated in digging a tunnel to the depot of the High Court in Podgorica.
He was then arrested at the airport in Stockholm, on his way out of Sweden, where he allegedly intended to travel to Belgrade.
According to the warrant issued by NCB Interpol Podgorica, he is wanted since September 28 for conducting criminal proceedings before the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, and he is charged with the criminal offense of criminal association in conjunction with the criminal offense of aggravated theft and the criminal offense of preventing evidence in complicity.
In addition to Erić, a warrant was also issued for his fellow citizens from Loznica - Veljko Marković (1991), Milan Marković (1970) and Dejan Jovanović (1993).
The police have so far arrested five people, whom they suspect are connected to the robbery of the court depot - Katarina Baćović, Marijan Vuljaj, Nikola Milačić and Ivica Piperović.
