Haris Kočan from Beran killed Radovan Marković while they were on the same task and trying to deal with members of the opposing Kavački clan, the police informed "Vijesta".
The plans of those two alleged members of the Skalja criminal group and another of their associates backfired on Wednesday evening, when a shooting occurred in Meterizi in which a twenty-nine-year-old man was killed.
Kočan was arrested and taken to the prosecutor's office yesterday, as well as the citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vanja Burda, whom the inspectors suspect of being connected to those criminal activities. A 9 mm Glock pistol was found with him.
"Through comprehensive investigations, it was established that the now deceased, along with the suspect HK and a third person, planned to commit a serious crime to the detriment of one or more members of an opposing criminal group in a certain locality near the crime scene. During the implementation of the criminal plan by these persons and the realization of the serious criminal act, the suspect HK took the life of his co-perpetrator RM, while a third person set fire to the vehicle that was used in this criminal act and which was intended for the execution of another serious criminal act. The third co-perpetrator destroyed the means of execution (firearms) of the planned serious crime by setting the fire," Assistant Police Director for the Anti-Crime Sector, Lazar Šćepanović, announced yesterday.

He clarified that the vehicle was stolen in a country in the region, which, he claims, was confirmed in the international exchange of intelligence during that investigation.
Šćepanović also said that during that investigation, the police officers shed light on the criminal offense of aggravated attempted murder, committed on November 20, 2023, when Igor Mašanović and Nikola Drecun were shot from a hand-held rocket launcher.
According to him, that was also done by Kočan.
"It is suspected that the direct perpetrator of this act is... HK, who during the implementation of the criminal plan directly fired a grenade from a hand-held rocket launcher in the direction of the vehicle in which the injured IM and ND were located. In relation to the direct perpetrator, we have information that in the previous period was employed in the Army of Montenegro and underwent training in the handling of various types of firearms and training in the handling of a manual rocket launcher", said Šćepanović.
He added that, as in the previous period, the officers of the Anti-Crime Sector will adequately respond to criminal groups and continue intensive and decisive activities with a priority focus on neutralizing their activities and persons associated with them:
"The reactions of the law enforcement authorities will be manifested by locating and prosecuting all those responsible who in any way contributed to the commission of several criminal acts in relation to criminal groups in order to create a favorable security environment".
