Thirty-one-year-old Vojin Prenkić and ten-year-old Dušan Klikovac from Zeta were each sentenced to half a year in prison for attacking supervisors Vuk Saičić and Marko Glušćević in February at Lake Skadar.
The Podgorica Basic Court found them guilty of assaulting an official in the performance of official duties, while they were acquitted of the criminal offense of illegal fishing.
They, on the other hand, denied the attack, but admitted that they were fishing illegally.
"The basic court in Podgorica found the defendants DK and VP guilty of the criminal offense of assault on an official in the performance of official duty, because on February 03.02.2024, 6, in the town of Pijesca in the Skadar Lake National Park, they attacked officials in the performance of official duty duty, and the defendant VP inflicted minor physical injury on an official, in the way that at the moment when they were caught fishing by the officers of NP Skadarsko jezero, the head of the service SV and the supervisor GM, and after the said officials introduced themselves to them and announced that want to control their vessel, the defendants fled, and then after the officials caught up with them with the vessel and approached their boat, while the injured SV tried to take the caught fish, bones, battery and wooden oar from their boat, the defendants VP began to offer physical resistance, hitting SV in the area of the left arm, and then in the area of the right side of the neck, while the defendant DK used a wooden paddle to strike the injured GM, who stood in front of him, in the area of the ribs, and then in the area of the back and shoulders, during which the injured party SV suffered minor physical injuries. For the said criminal offense, they were sentenced to prison terms of XNUMX months each," the Basic Court announced.
"Furthermore, the defendants DK and VP were acquitted of the charge of having committed the criminal offense of illegal fishing, while the court found that this was not a criminal offense, but a misdemeanor. The parties have the right to appeal against the said verdict within 8 days from the day of receipt of the written copy of the verdict, which will be drawn up within the legal deadline," the announcement concludes.
