Thirty-three people were prosecuted in connection with incidents that occurred in the previous period before, during or after football matches in Podgorica, Tivat, Kotor and Nikšić, the Police Administration announced.
"Due to the events of April 14 in Tivat, when there was a violation of public order and peace, which we have already informed the public about, the police officers of the Tivat Security Department, in cooperation with the competent prosecutor's office in Kotor and the police officers of the Nikšić Security Department, carried out the identification and face processing:
Đ.L., KS and PS from Nikšić, as well as DM from Tivat against whom misdemeanor charges were filed due to offenses committed in the area of the Law on Public Order and Peace, of which PS was also deprived of liberty under the Law on Misdemeanors.
Criminal charges were filed against TG and KN from Nikšić on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of assaulting an official in the performance of official duties, after which they were named and deprived of their liberty on the same day.
Also, police officers filed misdemeanor charges against six persons from Nikšić, NS, GV, Đ.N., Đ.R., KN and TL due to offenses committed in the area of the Law on Prevention of Violence and Misbehavior at Sports Events.
In cooperation with the competent prosecutor's office, police officers undertake measures and actions to identify other persons who participated in these events.
When it comes to the incident that happened in Podgorica on April 27, in which fans participated during the match between FC "Budućnost" from Podgorica and FC "Sutjeska" from Nikšić, about which we also previously informed the public, police officers prosecuted 14 persons - JB, Š.R., AS, M.Š., MK, SS, MR, TP, Đ.P., SM, OO, K.Đ., OP and Lj.V, due to offenses from the Law on preventing violence and inappropriate behavior at sporting events," the police statement reads.
The police added that due to the incident that happened after the soccer match in Podgorica, police officers will continue to take measures and actions to identify other persons who participated in these events.
"In addition, in relation to the incident that took place in Kotor on April 24 during the football match between FC "Bokelj" from Kotor and FC "Kom" from Podgorica, the police officers of the Kotor security department, in cooperation with the police officers of other organizational units, collected notifications from seven persons, while further measures and actions are underway with the aim of collecting notifications from other persons and elucidating the entire event, as well as prosecuting the responsible persons in accordance with the law.
Also, yesterday in Nikšić, a football match was played between FK "Sutjeska" from Nikšić and FK "Petrovac" from Petrovac, when a number of FK "Sutjeska" fans entered the field without authorization, and their security was provided by the security service hired by the organizer, about which the Security Department of Nikšić was informed, whose officers toured the location where the match was played, with the aim of maintaining stable public order and peace.
During the unauthorized entry into the field by a group of FC "Sutjeska" fans, police officers prevented a physical confrontation between them and the match referee. Seven persons - R.Đ., N.Đ., SK, AR, SN and VG have been deprived of their liberty due to offenses under the Act on the Prevention of Violence and Misbehavior at Sports Events, while further measures and actions are underway in order to collect information from other persons and clarification of the entire event," the police statement reads.
The police said that, in order to determine the possible responsibility of the responsible person of FC "Sutjeska", due to the insufficient implementation of measures for the smooth and safe maintenance of the sports event and the failure to take measures to prevent the outbreak of violence and inappropriate behavior of spectators, the police officers of the Nikšić Security Department undertake all legally prescribed measures and actions.
