Janko Janković (36) from Cetinje was arrested yesterday in an operation by officers of the Criminal Police Sector, during which the policemen, with the assistance of their colleagues from the Special Police Unit, searched the Podgorica hotels "Podgorica" and "Piramida", as well as several private apartments.
In that operation, the police officers checked several persons of security interest, members of organized criminal clans, as well as persons associated with them. Searches were conducted at several locations.
Janković was deprived of his liberty during the search of the "Podgorica" hotel after the police found a gun in a car without license plates, parked in front of that complex.
Last night, after a hearing at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, he was detained for up to 72 hours.
In the same operation, the alleged soldiers of the organized criminal group Kavački clan Petar Lipovina (41) and Boško Pavlović (38) were searched.
According to the claims of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), the two are part of a criminal group that previously planned the murder of investigative journalist Olivera Lakić and two citizens of Budva, Marko Ljubiša Kan and Goran Slovinić, known as Brala.
According to police records, Kan is a member of the Budva criminal group, which cooperates with the criminal Skaljar clan.
Janković, who was arrested yesterday, was handcuffed by the police after he told them that the weapon found in a car without license plates, which the police searched, belonged to him.
"Today, at the parking lot in Svetlana Kane Radević Street, the police checked the face of JJ (36) from Cetinje, who was next to a vehicle without license plates. A search of the vehicle revealed a handgun under the back seat. In addition, BP (38) and PL (41) were controlled inside the hotel located in the mentioned street. Also, an inspection of the vehicle used by BP, which was located in the parking area in front of this hotel, was carried out. A spray with an irritating effect was found, as well as a certain amount of new branded clothing. The competent prosecutor has been informed of the incident, and further measures and actions are being taken under the jurisdiction of the police," the Police Administration said yesterday.
They said that there will be such and similar activities in the following days as well.
Janković, who was deprived of his liberty yesterday, was also arrested by the police in December 2017. They then put handcuffs on him after they found a laboratory in his house in the Cetinje settlement Drušići where marijuana was allegedly produced.
During yesterday's action, he claimed that the gun was his, however, the expert examination that was ordered will show whether he was telling the truth or just taking the blame to protect one of the clan members.
This is what a source from the investigation told "Vijesta" yesterday, adding that the prosecution has already issued orders for expert testimony.
The "Podgorica" hotel, which was searched yesterday, and where persons of interest to security gather, was also searched in July last year.
Pavićević: Criminals do not come to "Pyramid".
The text says that the police also searched the Piramida hotel yesterday, which was denied today by the owner of that tourist complex, Zoran Pavićević.
"The police did not search my hotel yesterday or ever, nor did they come yesterday. We have not cooperated with criminal structures so far, nor can they be our guests. And we do not want them to be at our place," he told "Vijesta".
