Ulcinj inspectors are looking for one or more thieves who stole a very valuable painting from the premises of the Hotel and Tourism Company "Ulcinjska Riviera", and then placed a faithful forgery on the wall in the same place, "Vijesti" learned from several sources.
According to the same information, it is allegedly an older painting by the famous Montenegrin painter and academician Voj Stanić, worth tens of thousands of euros.
In the Ulcinj Prosecutor's Office, it was confirmed to "Vijesta" that several people were questioned in this regard, but that at this moment they cannot reveal more details.
"An investigation is underway following the report of the disappearance of an artistic painting owned by HTP Ulcinjska Riviera. On the order of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office of Ulcinj, the Police Department collected information from several persons who are employed or were employed by the injured company. Due to the interest of the further proceedings, no more information can be given", says the ODT's answer to "Vijesti" questions.
According to the knowledge of "Vijesti", police inspectors are trying to put the pieces together as to who and in what way stole the original painting and replaced it with a forgery since it is not small in size.
"The controversial picture is in the police. It is probably a forgery and the original is being sought," said an interlocutor close to the investigation to "Vijesta".
On April 22, a report was submitted to the Ulcinj police in which there is doubt as to the authenticity of the picture, which is located in the official room of the HTP Ulcinjska riviera, and whose author is Vojo Stanić.
"The police officers seized the picture in question and it is currently in the official premises of the Police Directorate, Ulcinj Security Department, and it is believed to be a replica, while the original picture, which was previously in the aforementioned office, is still not located. In connection with the event in question, notifications were collected from 10 persons, namely Ć. H, M. L, N. Đ, I. D, Đ. B, K. M, E. I, S. V, MM and VF The image will be sent for the necessary expert examinations after the order of the basic state prosecutor, while the police undertakes further measures and actions in order to shed light on the event", announced the public relations team Police Department.
The Ulcinj Riviera did not answer the questions of "Vijesti" about which painting disappeared, whether it has been found in the meantime, what is the value of that work of art and who was questioned by the police on this occasion.
Some of the questions were if there is a forgery in the police station, where is the original, who has been questioned about it, whether they are waiting for an expert who will determine whether it is an original or a forgery and when the picture disappeared or was replaced.
Before "Karisma" leased the Ulcinj Riviera hotels on the Velika beach, a painting by Voj Stanić adorned the wall of the congress hall in the "Olimpik" hotel. After "Karisma" took over the hotels, the picture was transferred to the office on Ada.
For now, it is not known when the trace of it was lost, that is, since when a copy of Stanić's valuable work of art was "hanging" on the wall of the HTP Ulcinjska Riviera.
