Control of the indictment against Milo Božović and other defendants, was postponed yesterday to June 24 in the Podgorica High Court, after the lawyer Marko Radovic asked the extrajudicial panel presided over by the judge Vesna Kovačević, to merge that case with a new indictment against the same defendants, which was filed in the meantime by the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT).
Special prosecutor Jovan Vukotic announced that he opposes the defense proposal.
The indictment with which the merger was proposed refers to 13 defendants from yesterday's proceedings.
In the second case, it is about the indictment for the sale of cocaine from South America to Europe, in a total amount of 5.160,605 kilograms, as well as the transfer of "dirty" money from the Netherlands to Montenegro, in the amount of 1.375.000 euros.
"In the meantime, a new indictment was filed against the same defendants from this case, where the subject of that indictment is also the same criminal organization that is the subject of this indictment, where the defendants are charged with criminal acts from the criminal plan from that organization, and how those two proceedings are currently in the same phase, the defense took advantage of that opportunity and, just before today's hearing, submitted to the court a proposal to merge the two proceedings. As this proposal is being decided by another criminal extrajudicial panel, in a different composition, we have therefore proposed postponing today's hearing", said the lawyer. Marko Radovic after the adjourned hearing of the main trial.
In mid-February, the High Court issued a decision to return for revision the indictment of the Special State Prosecutor's Office charging Ljub Milović and others with the commission of a criminal offense - the creation of a criminal organization (Article 401 a paragraph 1 in relation to paragraph 6 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro)...
With that act against the so-called police drug cartel, the SDT included 21 people, including Božović - accused of creating a criminal organization and drug smuggling, as well as police official Dejan Knežević, who will eventually be tried for divulging secret information and abuse of official position.
In addition to them, the accused are Radoje Zvicer, Mileta Ojadnić, Ivan Stamatović, Nebojša Bugarin, Petar Lazović, Milan Popović, Miloš Mišurović, Marko Novaković, Ivan Nikolić, Goran Stojanović, Božidar Jabučanin, Aleksandar Keković, Vladimir Bajčeta, Tihomir Adžić, Filip Zindović (Kljajevic), Darko Knezevic, Drazen Milović, Ivan Mijatović.
The prosecution charges the individuals in that group, among other things, with smuggling 4,3 tons of cocaine, with laundering around 7.000.000 euros, but also with causing general danger and illegal possession of weapons...
In part of the prosecutor's files, it is stated that Ivan Mijatović in one trip ensured that 100 kilograms of cocaine owned by Milo Božović were safely transported from the port of Lisbon to the town of Costa da Caparica in Portugal.
According to the prosecution documents, another person was involved in that case, and they are trying to determine her identity through the messages of the Sky application that all the suspects used.
In the same documents, it is explained that on May 9, 2020, around thirty minutes after midnight, from the ship "MSC Fantasia", which was anchored in the port of Lisbon, this third person lowered six orange bags, which contained 100 packs of cocaine.
"In the way that the person who used the pin TL9TOH on the encrypted application 'SKY ECC', acting on the order of the defendant Milo Božović, on 9/5.2020/00.30. year, around 100:XNUMX, from the ship 'MSC Fantasia', which was anchored in the port of Lisbon, dropped six orange bags, which contained a total of XNUMX packages of the narcotic drug cocaine", according to the prosecutor's files.
SDT claims that the cocaine belonged to Božović and that an unknown person took it by boat:
"On the order of the defendant Ivan Mijatović, who acted on the orders of the defendant Milo Božović. After that, the defendant Ivan Mijatović, also acting on the orders of the defendant Milo Božović, transported the said narcotic drug cocaine to a safe location in Lisbon on the same day, and then on 11 May 5 he transported the narcotic drug in question from that location to another safe location in to the town of Costa da Caparica, and all with the aim of further unauthorized sales for the account of the defendant Milo Božović," the files say.
