Acting (acting) director of the Police Administration, Aleksandar Radović, announced that an explosive device with a directed effect, of great destructive power, was activated this morning.
During the address to the public of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), the Police Directorate (UP) and the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office (VDT) in front of the building of the Security Department in Cetinje, Radović said that the entire course of events casts a shadow on the good results that the police had in the previous period , during which they delivered concrete results, but that "today we see that they must be even better and more efficient".
The Police Directorate announced earlier today that two people were killed and three were injured this morning in Cetinje, after an explosive device was activated not far from the Sports Center there.
Radović pointed out that he ordered the engagement of the entire team in order to undertake all measures and actions.
"We understand the anxiety of the citizens, especially in situations where we have accidental victims, this is a red line, Montenegro cannot afford any accidental victims. We are obliged to oppose every form of violence and crime, in every place, in every city, in every street in Montenegro. The fight will not be easy, but the state will win, not crime," said Radović.
He confirmed that the victims were members of an organized criminal group.
He called on the Government of Montenegro and all MPs to make a maximum contribution to the fight against crime.
"This day must never happen again," said Radović.
Acting prosecutor Danka Ivanović Đerić announced that the State Prosecutor's Office will urgently take all measures and actions in order to shed light on the event as soon as possible.
"And in order to find out who the perpetrators are".
She explained that during the investigation, numerous traces were found that will be the subject of various expert reports. Ivanović Đerić announced that police officers, forensics experts, but an expert for fires, explosions and accidents, excluded the traces. The prosecutor pointed out that an autopsy was ordered on the bodies of the victims.
Lazar Šćepanović, Assistant Director of the Police Directorate for the Crime Fighting Sector, explained that the explosive device was placed on a seven-meter-high tree and that it was activated at the moment when four people were entering the Sports Center.
He said that the victims were followed for a long period of time, that is, that the killers followed their habits.
